Burglar Alarm Leads to Arrest of Neighbor
Deputies checking out a burglar alarm at a Littlerock house stumbled upon a crop of marijuana growing next door and arrested the neighbor on suspicion of cultivating marijuana, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department reported Thursday.
The marijuana seized from the yard and house of Earl Zink, 57, totaled about two pounds and had an estimated street value of $1,600 to $1,800, sheriff’s deputies said.
While checking out a false alarm next door to Zink’s house Wednesday afternoon in the 10100 block of East Avenue S-6, two deputies saw the marijuana plants through a chain-link fence, authorities said. The plants ranged in height from six inches to eight feet, they said.
Zink was not home at the time but arrived shortly afterward and was arrested. He was later released on $500 bail.
