More than 1,000 state prison inmates in Pennsylvania rioted for a second night, taking eight hostages and setting several cellblocks ablaze, authorities said. One hostage was reportedly released. Prison Supt. Robert Freeman had said the disturbance may have been caused by overcrowding and inmates’ anger over changes in policy.
