Computer-game producer Software Toolworks said its fiscal second-quarter earnings and sales more than doubled from year-earlier levels.

The Chatsworth-based concern said net income in the quarter that ended Sept. 30 rose to $1.35 million from $579,000, and its sales rose to $5.77 million from $2.42 million. For the first half of its fiscal year, Software Toolworks’ earnings totaled $2.20 million, up from $798,000, and its six-month sales soared to $9.94 million from $3.77 million.

The company attributed the gains to continued strong demand for its computer games and other entertainment software, and to higher revenue from its software packaging subsidiary.
