Doctors in Oxford, Miss., performed a tracheotomy on Roy Lee (Chuckie) Mullins, University of Mississippi defensive back who was paralyzed during a football game against Vanderbilt Saturday. Officials say the surgery will help Mullins with the prevention of infection.
Mullins’ condition was upgraded to serious, but doctors expect the paralysis is permanent.
