Ex-Ford Worker OKs Kickback Plea Bargain

A former Ford Motor Co. employee who allegedly received $2.5 million in kickbacks from suppliers to a Ford plant in suburban Cleveland entered a plea agreement today with federal prosecutors.

Ludwig A. Schafer, 61, is expected to plead guilty Nov. 14 to two counts of mail fraud before U.S. District Judge Julian Cook Jr. in Detroit. The agreement calls for Schafer to serve up to five years in prison, then be on probation for five years.
