Dutch Carrier to Cut Stake in NWA: KLM Royal Dutch Airlines announced that it was reducing its planned stake in the parent of Northwest Airlines in compliance with U.S. regulations. The Dutch flag carrier is trimming its stake in NWA Inc. to $150 million, a KLM spokesman said. KLM is a participant in a $3.8-billion bid to take over NWA by a group of U.S. investors led by Los Angeles financier Alfred A. Checchi.
