Waterman communicates thorough joy in her fiddling, whether in super-charged moto perpetuos or in probing introspection. She and Ritt play with well-informed style, agreeing completely in phrasing and articulation, even at their implausibly fast, supremely exuberant, tempos. Both instruments occasionally disappear from the texture, suggesting the balance problems are in the studio and not in the performances.
