World IN BRIEF : COLOMBIA : Bomb on Bridge Disrupts Campaign

A candidate for presidency of Colombia canceled two campaign stops after a large bomb was found on a bridge hours before he was scheduled to cross it. Cesar Gaviria, one of three leading candidates, canceled stops in Cienaga and Fundacion after the dynamite bomb was found on the bridge between the two towns. Gaviria was campaign manager for Sen. Luis Carlos Galan until he was assassinated at the order of drug traffickers at a political rally on Aug. 18. Gaviria than decided to enter the race.
