Rome Police quelled violence by Lazio of Rome fans before and during a soccer match against Atalanta of Bergamo.

Lazio supporters assaulted a group of Atalanta fans in front of ticket windows. Rome police intervened and arrested three Lazio rooters. Two Atalanta fans were hospitalized with minor injuries.

During the second half, two controversial calls by referee Bruno DiCola enraged Lazio fans who ripped posts out of the Flaminio Stadium floor and tried to smash their way through a plexiglass shield and onto the playing field. Two Lazio fans were arrested.
