PerfectData Corp., a Simi Valley maker of products for cleaning computer-related equipment, said it won a patent-infringement suit against a Chatsworth competitor.

U. S. District Judge Pamela Rymer in Los Angeles ruled that a device made by Head Computer Products Co. infringed on a patent held by PerfectData on a similar product that it makes. The device is a diskette used to clean computer data-storage equipment.

PerfectData said the court also awarded the company unspecified damages based on Head Computer’s sales of its device since March, 1986, when PerfectData filed its suit. PerfectData President Lee R. Mannheimer said his company had not determined the amount of damages involved.
