American Ecology Reports Large 3rd-Quarter Loss
American Ecology, an Agoura Hills waste-management company, reported a net loss of $1.8 million in the third quarter that ended Sept. 30. The firm lost $752,000 in the same period a year earlier.
Revenues rose 18% to $11.6 million from $9.9 million.
The firm blamed the loss on costs associated with meeting the requirements of the Superfund waste cleanup law at its Texas disposal facility.
For the nine months that ended Sept. 30, American Ecology lost $4.3 million, compared to a $3.9 million loss in the year-earlier period. Revenues increased 11% to $32.1 million from $29 million.
