Motorcyclist Killed; Other Driver Held
A 32-year-old Anaheim man died Tuesday after the motorcycle he was riding collided with a car being driven by a man suspected of being drunk, a police spokesman said.
Kory Pawlawski was riding north on Brookhurst Street when a car driven by Frank Vlacilek, 31, also of Anaheim, made an illegal turn at the Orange Avenue intersection, Anaheim Police Sgt. Jim George said. Pawlawski made a vain attempt to avoid colliding with Vlacilek’s Pontiac Firebird, George said.
Pawlawski was pronounced dead at Humana Hospital-West Anaheim.
George said Vlacilek was arrested on suspicion of vehicular manslaughter and driving under the influence and held on $25,000 bail.
