World IN BRIEF : LEBANON : Israel Hits Hezbollah Bases

Israeli helicopter gunships attacked bases of the Iranian-backed Hezbollah (Party of God), damaging equipment and wounding three people, Muslim security sources said. Firing rockets and machine guns, the aircraft scored direct hits on Hezbollah mountain hide-outs about 9 miles east of the port city of Sidon. In Tel Aviv, an army spokesman said Israeli aircraft attacked “terrorist targets.”
