Attack on Tax Official Brings Maximum Penalty

BEIJING —
A fish seller was sentenced to death in the southeast China city of Wenzhou for killing a tax official who had ordered him to pay his taxes, the People’s Daily said Thursday.
It said Jing Xu attacked one of three tax officials who came to his market stall Oct. 29 demanding payment. The official later died.
