Sund Is New Chief of Unit Owned by Times Mirror

Jeffrey O. Sund has been named president and chief executive of Richard D. Irwin Inc., a college business and economics textbook publisher owned by Times Mirror. The appointment is effective Nov. 27.

Sund most recently served as vice president and editorial director of college publishing at Houghton Mifflin. He joined that company in 1973, serving in a variety of positions including editor-in-chief of its business and science department, college division. Before joining Houghton Mifflin, he was a sales representative for Prentice-Hall for six years.

Richard D. Irwin Inc. is based in Homewood, Ill. Times Mirror is a media and information company based in Los Angeles and also publishes the Los Angeles Times.
