Islamic Body Seeks IBM Boycott: The 46-member Organization of Islamic Conference asked its member states to boycott International Business Machines for its alleged plans to supply Israel with computer technology that would help the country make a hydrogen bomb. An OIC statement did not explain what led the organization to believe that the deal has been concluded. There have been reports that IBM was studying an Israeli request to purchase sophisticated computers for academic purposes.
