Bethlehem to Produce Specialized Rail Car

JOHNSTOWN, Pa. —
Bethlehem Steel Corp.’s Freight Car division begins production this week on a new specialized rail car.
The new car is called an articulated all-purpose flatcar, capable of hauling both highway trailers and shipping containers.
The car was designed by Bethlehem in cooperation with engineers at Trailer Train Co., which has ordered 400 of the cars.
