NATION IN BRIEF : FLORIDA : Seat Black Juror, Appeals Court Rules
From Times Staff and Wire Reports
A state appeals court upheld a judge’s decision to seat a black juror, allowing the trial of a policeman who shot and killed a black motorcyclist to resume in Miami. The 3rd District Court of Appeal agreed. Lozano is charged with two counts of manslaughter in the Jan. 16 deaths of the motorcyclist and his passenger. The deaths set off three days of racial violence.
