A South-Central Los Angeles man convicted of the execution-style murders of a UCLA freshman and her boyfriend in a secluded field in the Santa Monica Mountains more than four years ago was sentenced Tuesday to die in the gas chamber.

Santa Monica Superior Court Judge Leslie W. Light imposed the sentence on Stanley Bernard Davis, 27, who was convicted of murdering UCLA freshman Michelle Ann Boyd, 19, and Cal State Northridge sophomore Brian Edward Harris, 20.

Deputy Dist. Atty. Harvey Giss said Davis was one of four men who abducted the couple, sweethearts since they were classmates at Thousand Oaks High School, in Westwood on Sept. 30, 1985, and drove them to a darkened spot off Mulholland Drive, where he shot them.
