CFTC to Propose Restriction: The Commodity Futures Trading Commission, the agency that regulates the nation’s futures exchanges, is set to propose tough restrictions on the controversial practice of dual trading, one of its commissioners said. The rule would come at a time of heavy pressure on the agency to stop abuses on the futures markets. In dual trading, a broker trades for his client and himself at the same time. Critics of the practice say it allows brokers to cheat by using knowledge of the customer order to turn a profit for themselves. No date has been set for implementing the new limits.
