Nation IN BRIEF : FLORIDA : Secret Shuttle Flight Countdown Started

NASA began its countdown toward the Thanksgiving Eve launching of the space shuttle Discovery with a crew of five and a surveillance satellite. The astronauts were arriving at the space center even though workers at the pad were several hours behind schedule with final inspections. Liftoff is to take place between 6:30 and 10:30 Wednesday night, the exact time to be given just nine minutes in advance because of the secret military payload, NASA officials said.
