NATION IN BRIEF : FLORIDA : Odds for Shuttle’s Launch Date ‘50-50’

The shuttle Discovery has only a “50-50 shot” at getting off the pad on schedule Wednesday night to kick off a secret military flight because of work to complete a booster repair job, a top NASA official said at the Kennedy Space Center. But NASA’s mission management team, a panel of top agency officials, decided to press on with Discovery’s countdown to a Thanksgiving eve blastoff.
