8th Tornado Victim, 9, Dies in N.Y. Hospital
An eighth youngster injured when a tornado slammed into a school cafeteria died today, a hospital spokesman said.
Jennifer Holman, 9, died at Albany Medical Center, where she had been in critical condition with multiple injuries since the tornado last Thursday at East Coldenham Elementary School near Newburgh, spokesman Elmer Streeter said.
She and the other victims of the storm were eating lunch when a tornado blew in a wall, hurling concrete blocks, bricks and glass onto the children.
Seventeen other students were injured. One remained in critical condition today at Westchester County Medical Center in Valhalla.
