NATION IN BRIEF : NEW YORK : Two More Children Hurt in Tornado Die

Two more children died as a result of the tornado that smashed down a cafeteria wall at East Coldenham Elementary School near Newburgh, N.Y., last Thursday, bringing the toll to nine. Mark Flanagan, 7, was declared brain dead after a series of tests, and 8-year-old Jennifer Homan died of “brain death secondary to multiple trauma,” a hospital spokesman said. Gov. Mario M. Cuomo ordered an investigation into the disaster. Sixteen other children were injured when the tornado struck. Nine remained hospitalized.
