TEDDY DEER: South Coast Plaza wasn’t sure what they had when the shipment of stuffed toys arrived, but they’re going on sale Friday in the mall’s first-ever gift area. . . . “We thought we were getting reindeer,” spokeswoman Maura Eggan said. . . . Instead, the reindeer turned out to be what Eggan described as “teddy bears with antlers and an elongated snout.” . . . They’ve been renamed “teddy deer,” and, at the very least, Eggan says: “They’re exclusive to South Coast Plaza.”
