WORLD IN BRIEF : ISRAEL : Troops Wound 12 in Palestinian Clashes

Israeli soldiers shot and wounded at least 12 Palestinians in stone-throwing clashes during a general strike in the Gaza Strip and West Bank, Arab hospital officials said. The confrontations came as commerce and transportation ground to a halt in the occupied territories in the strike ordered by Muslim fundamentalists.
