Two men’s suits and a woman’s blouse valued at a total of about $1,400 were slashed at Robinson’s department store in Fashion Island, police said Tuesday.

Sometime between Wednesday and Friday, someone slashed the two Armani suits, which retail for $680 each, and a Calvin Klein blouse, retailing for $40. In each case, an incision was made in the shoulder, Police Sgt. Andy Gonis said.

He said there was no indication that the latest clothing slashings were tied to any previous incidents.

“It appears to be another random vandalism incident,” he said.

Last spring, a clothes slasher or slashers ruined $50,000 worth of expensive garments at Fashion Island and South Coast Plaza in Costa Mesa.

Police from the two cities were trying to determine whether 38-year-old Augusto Guzman, arrested in Los Angeles on suspicion of slashing clothes, might be tied to the Orange County cases.
