WORLD IN BRIEF : WEST BANK : 2 Masked Arabs Killed by Army

Israeli soldiers shot and killed two masked Palestinians who were throwing stones at Israeli cars, the army said. The incidents took place on the main highway between Jerusalem and Ramallah in the occupied West Bank. In the Gaza Strip, 16 Arabs were wounded by army gunfire, Arab reports said. Palestinians in the occupied territories observed a general strike to mark the anniversary of the 1947 U.N. vote to partition Palestine into Arab and Jewish states.
