New Center: St. Joseph Hospital on Thursday will open an urgent-care services center in east Orange. The 3,200-square-foot facility with seven examining rooms will be open seven days a week from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. It will be staffed by eight physicians on rotation and will handle “bumps, bruises, scrapes, cuts and other minor illnesses,” said Donald Hicks, the hospital’s vice president of marketing and development.

Meanwhile, Hicks said, St. Joseph is completing construction of the second floor of its satellite St. Joseph Irvine Health Center in Woodbridge, which opened in July. That facility is a combination of diagnostic services and physicians’ offices.
