COLLEGE BASKETBALL ROUNDUP : Miller Takes Charge as Titan Women Win

Junior center Genia Miller scored 29 points and 14 rebounds to lead Cal State Fullerton to a 68-44 victory over Western Illinois Friday in the first round of the Mid-American women’s basketball tournament at the University of Missouri.

Miller made 14 of 26 shots. Jill Matyuch added 15 points for Fullerton (2-0), which plays Missouri tonight at 5 p.m. for the championship.

In the Chico State women’s tournament:

Chapman 78, Southern Oregon 50--Ruth Akahoshi and Melissa Abraham scored 15 each for Chapman (5-1) in the semifinal round. Chapman plays Chico State tonight at 8 for the championship.

Jennifer Uecke scored 14, and Berthel Trice 12 for Champman.
