Babies in Theaters

Thanks to Barbara Marcus for her Nov. 26 letter on crying babies in movie theaters.

When my daughter was young, I missed many movies and concerts because I could not afford a baby-sitter. I realized that this was just part of being a parent. It is incomprehensible to me that this is lost on today’s parents.

It is grossly unfair that one crying baby spoils an event for hundreds of people. It is just as unfair, possible more so, to the poor child whose parent forces it to sit in an auditorium when bedtime was hours before.
