The Case of 2 Abandoned Babies and Those Eager to Adopt Them

Re “Self-Help Kit Gives Women Control of Their Abortions” (Nov. 19): Once again, I was disappointed in the women of America. The popular theory maintains that women should be in control of their own bodies and, thus, be offered the choice of aborting their mistakes. There is never any thought given to the freedom of choice a woman may exercise prior to the moment of conception.

Though our society offers women a multitude of birth-control options, including the proven method of abstinence, women today choose ignorance in order to create a platform for women’s rights.

If women exercised their freedom of choice and control of their own bodies prior to conception, the problem would be solved, except for the statistically insignificant, though morally debatable, cases of rape, incest and mother’s life endangerment.

Is it too much to ask that American women be intelligent enough to understand that natural selection has chosen the female as the entry point of new human life and to take responsible precautions if this is not convenient or desired?
