TOKYO —
The Tokyo stock market jumped to a record close today as investors snapped up shares of companies that stand to benefit from the end of the Cold War, brokers said.
The key 225-share Nikkei index surged 171.19 points to close at 37,303.87 after dropping 136.11 points on Friday. Volume was brisk at 1.2 billion shares.
