NEW YORK —
Karen Burnes, a correspondent on CBS News’ “West 57th” before that show was dropped this summer, is leaving CBS after nearly two years there and returning to ABC News on Dec. 8, ABC said Wednesday. Burns, who began at ABC News as a desk assistant and became an associate producer when the network’s “World News Tonight” began in 1978, was an ABC correspondent from 1984 to 1988, when she joined CBS.
