The Marine Corps started the Toys for Tots program in Southern California in 1947. The first drive brought in 7,000 toys. The program has subsequently gone national, and last year 7 million toys were donated nationwide for distribution to infants and children up to age 15. Here’s a look at the recent trend in donations to the program in Orange County only, with this year’s goal.
