From Times Staff and Wire Service Reports

Movie maker Steven Spielberg hopes to make a movie in Cincinnati with a script written by his sister and loosely based on their childhood here.

The 41-year-old director of such hits as the Indiana Jones movies said the screenplay by his sister, Anne, will be different from the adventure films he’s known for. Her screenplay credits include “Big.”

“Annie wrote a really small, wonderful story about the two of us and my mother,” Spielberg said during an interview in the Cincinnati Post. “It’s more of a comedy than an intimate portrait of our growing up.”

Spielberg was born in Cincinnati on Dec. 18, 1947, while his father was an electrical engineering student at the University of Cincinnati. The family moved to California four years later.

He said the movie should be filmed in Cincinnati, preferably in fall.
