WORLD IN BRIEF : BRITAIN : Flu Vaccine Sent to Fight Epidemic
Emergency supplies of vaccine were flown to Britain to fight a flu epidemic that has put hospitals across the country on red alert. Hundreds of thousands of Britons, including Queen Elizabeth II and her sister Princess Margaret, have succumbed to the influenza outbreak. A Dutch drug company said it is sending 77,500 doses of vaccine to Britain to replenish dwindling supplies and will send 110,000 more from warehouses in West Germany and Belgium.
