The Sheepfold, a nonprofit organization that provides shelter for homeless women and children, has received a $50,000 award from the United Parcel Service for use in establishing a day-care center.

The grant was presented in November to Sheepfold founder and director Fran Lundquist by Oscar Joffrion, manager of UPS’ Southern California District.

Now into its 10th year, the Sheepfold is a Christian-based organization that operates four shelters for homeless women and children. The shelters are in the North County and Central County areas.
