The number of alcohol-related fatal accidents in Orange County cities during 1988 was the lowest recorded during any of the last five years. The 104 accidents were a 7% decrease from 1987. Anaheim had by far the most such accidents, 27. In fact, that is the highest total for any city during the five-year span. Several cities had none of these accidents; La Palma and Los Alamitos have had none during the five years. The Highway Patrol defines alcohol-related accidents as any where a driver, pedestrian or bicyclist had been drinking.
