Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputies posing as drug dealers arrested 11 alleged dealers and more than twice as many suspected buyers in a sting operation on illegal drug transactions in Lennox, authorities said Saturday.

The sting, which began Friday night and ended early Saturday, netted 33 adults and two juveniles, Sheriff’s Sgt. Ernie Roop said. The suspects were booked at the sheriff’s Lennox Station on suspicion of cocaine possession, being under the influence of a controlled substance and various other offenses, Roop said.

The arrests were made after narcotics investigators served search warrants in two Lennox apartments, arresting the occupants and then taking over the alleged drug sale operations for hours into the night.

Deputies converged upon an apartment at 1029 W. 103rd St. about 5:30 p.m. Friday, arresting three occupants and four others who later arrived to buy drugs, Roop said.

The deputies then went to another apartment at 10205 S. Buford Ave. about 8:30 p.m., arresting eight occupants and 20 would-be buyers.
