From Times Staff and Wire Service Reports

A federal judge has issued a preliminary injunction reversing a government ban on the use of foreign acts in Las Vegas showrooms during the current musicians strike.

U.S. District Judge Lloyd George ruled today that foreign entertainment is an integral part of operations at five struck resorts. The ruling means foreign headliners and their musicians will be allowed to appear at the resorts.

The Immigration and Naturalization Service threatened in September to arrest any foreigners who might try to perform at the five properties. The government ban forced singer Julio Iglesias to cancel a November performance at Caesars. In a 10-page order handed down today, George granted a preliminary injunction sought by the hotels, blocking the INS from carrying out the arrest threat.
