WORLD IN BRIEF : HONG KONG : Colony Said to Risk Loss of Key Workers

More than half of Hong Kong professionals would like to leave the colony before China takes over in 1997, according to surveys published by the Hong Kong Institute of Personnel Management. The British government is reportedly preparing measures to encourage key people to stay in the colony by assuring them the right of residency in Britain should serious problems arise. The survey information came from 224 companies and 1,700 professionals including accountants, lawyers, medical staff and engineering personnel.
