Bicyclist Greg LeMond, who won the grueling Tour de France this year only two years after nearly dying in a hunting accident, was named Sports Illustrated’s Sportsman of the Year. LeMond, 28, the only American to win the prestigious race around France, is the first cyclist to receive the magazine’s honor in its 36-year history.
