Pico Rivera : Hearing Planned Jan. 16 on Ways to Use Federal Funds

Share

The Pico Rivera Community Advisory Board will conduct a public hearing Jan. 16 on how the city should spend $800,000 in federal Community Development Block Grant funds.

In the past, the funds have been used for housing rehabilitation, commercial rehabilitation, code enforcement and various capital improvements, including curb cuts for the handicapped and new parks. Recently, a substantial portion of the funding was used for the city’s new Senior Citizens Art Center.

According to federal guidelines, at least 60% of the money must be allocated to low- and moderate-income residents.
