LETTERS TO SANTA: Last year, the main post office in Santa Ana held a gift drive in which the public could buy presents for needy children who wrote to Santa Claus--and two people responded. . . . This year, 20 people signed up, buying presents for about 100 kids. . . . Since September, the post office, a major mail hub for Orange County, has received almost 1,000 letters addressed to the North Pole (B1). Some are poignant. . . . “Never mind about toys, I just want my family back in peace,” wrote one child.
