FULLERTON : 3 Are Named City Employees of Year

A police officer, a museum director and a deputy city clerk have been named employees of the year by City Manager William C. Winter.

Jim Thompson, 41, a senior police officer, was named safety employee of 1989 for his work behind the scenes in the department’s administrative services bureau. Thompson oversees the testing, purchasing and distribution of all police equipment, conducts surveys, prepares budgets and helps recruit and test new police officers.

Joe Felz, 30, director of the Fullerton Museum Center, was named general government employee of the year for attracting exhibits that have boosted the number of visitors to the museum center.

Audrey Culver, 50, deputy city clerk, was named manager of the year for her work keeping track of city records and her knowledge of city codes and requirements. She has worked for the city for 24 years.

Each received a $350 check. Their names have been added to a trophy display in the lobby of City Hall. The selections were announced Dec. 21.
