Share

Bicycle enthusiasts and people interested in Fullerton’s sister cities in Japan and Mexico are being sought to help develop municipal policy.

The city’s newly formed bicycle committee will work to update the city’s 1983 master plan for bikeways, which will include review of paths, signs, location of racks and consideration of creating bicycle park-and-ride sites.

The panel will work for 15 months. Members need not be Fullerton residents but should by bicycle enthusiasts. Applications are available at City Hall in the Community Services Department. Call (714) 738-6575 for information.

City officials are also seeking members for a sister-city committee, which will lay the groundwork to form a nonprofit, permanent sister-city organization. The group will coordinate activities with sister cities Fukui, Japan, and Morelia, Mexico.

The panel’s work is expected to last one year. The committee needs three members from the general public. Residents can apply by calling the City Council office at (714) 738-6311.

Applications for both committees are due Jan. 12.
