Faux Fur and Logic

The anti-fur activists are not “fascinated” with fake fur, as Stange suggests, but offer it as a humane alternative to the wearing of dead animals. Wearing a beautiful fake fur demonstrates that one can share the beauty of the animal without killing it, can admire it to the point of imitating it without needing to wear its dead body wrapped around his or her own body. Only the fur industry or its spokesmen would try to convince us that it’s as harmful to the animal to imitate it as it is to kill it.

It’s good to know that Stange doesn’t teach logic. The idea that wearing fake furs would encourage the buying of real animal skins defies logic. If I were to wear a red wig would that encourage others to scalp redheads?
