California Federal Sells Headquarters: California Federal Bank, the nation’s fourth-largest thrift, said it has sold its 27-story headquarters building to developer J. H. Snyder Co. for an undisclosed price. Analysts had estimated that the 23-year-old California Federal Plaza tower, with 443,000 square feet situated in the Miracle Mile/Mid-Wilshire area, would sell for $55 million to $60 million. California Federal put the building on the block several months ago.
