UAL Schedules Worker Talks: UAL Corp., the parent of United Airlines, scheduled talks Jan. 10 and 11 with its non-union workers over a possible employee buyout. That is after the Jan. 8 deadline imposed by Coniston Partners, a major shareholder that has threatened to oust UAL’s board unless progress is made to restructure the company. The timing of the employee meetings was interpreted on Wall Street to mean that a proposal for employee ownership would not be ready by Monday.
